asked us to design, manufacture and install two food technology classrooms which would be functional, sturdy and accessible to wheel chair users( see image below of a rise and fall sink) . The facility was to be suitable for GCSE food technology lessons and also have some commercial equipment for 6th formers who were taking a BTEC in Hospitality and Catering. We put in domestic cookers with preparation space and an inset sink bowls and then along the one wall we had a Combination oven, a six burner cooker with forced air convection oven and a Salamander grill.
Arden School
Arden School asked us for some food technology classrooms with mobile teachers stations so dependant on the size of the group the teacher could demonstrate cooking techniques /recipes close to the pupils workstations. We designed and manufactured the unit shown below for this purpose. The same unit can be used in Primary Schools to do food demonstration in a normal classroom. The unit wheels through a normal width doorway and can have different configurations of equipment. Behind the hinged door on the left hand side we can either have a slide out bin or a mobile hand wash basin with hot water supply.
